What comes to mind when the words “Christian” and “Rap” are used together? To some words such as: sinful, rebellious, un-holy, and abomination. Others view it to be a useful way to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, artistic, creative, and inspirational. While the masses continue to debate, Preston Thompson Jr. aka Sir-Viva (pronounced sur-vy-vuh) has surfaced as an urban missionary to those who are influenced by the hip hop culture! With the hope of seeing Gods greatest creation turn toward the way of Jesus Christ and allow him to remove them from the many lusts and passions of this sinful world! .. ..
Sir-Viva has been ministering the Gospel through rap since 2003 and is the founder and President of Walk Right Ministries. Because he has migrated all over the country Sir-Viva incorporates a lot of the flavor that he has been exposed to into his music. With a passionate commitment to the kingdom of Christ, and a firm belief that there is no room for compromise when it comes to the gospel, Sir-Viva has become known for his upfront style and devotion to proclaiming Jesus Christ!
As Christian Rap continues to grow in its many directions, Sir-Viva stands in the company of ministers that refuse to allow the enemy to claim victory over today’s youth and adults alike! As he continues pressing toward the mark , Sir-Viva vows to bushwhack the trail for the next generation to come. Watch out! He’s been hit, but he can’t be stopped! Why? He's A Sir-Viva!
Discography
His testimony served as inspiration for his debut Christian Rap CD Titled- “ I’m A Survivor ”- and has laid a much-needed foundation for his ministry. Provocative tracks such as “God Aint Tellum to Write That” will challenge believers and non-believers alike to search the contents of the music we currently embrace!
His sophomore Project: " Luke 14:23 (In Action..!)" will definitely embeded itself in the hearts of his community ; challenging them to come out of their comfort zones and glorify The Lord by taking the Gospel to the streets.
Sir-Viva Also teamed up with label mate, Result, aka Chris Davis and Dropped His Best work to date: " Heart Condition ".
" The Pointer Serenade " is a plate clearer. The moto is to " Point to Jesus Christ, while serenading the hearts of men! A mixture of singing hooks and rap verses is sure to be a pleasent medly of timeless music.
Sir-Viva’s 4th project entitled “ People Person ” while be a gradually released over the years of 2012 and 2013 (1 brand new song every month). The People Person Project is sure to catch the ears and hearts alike across the globe as he promises it to be his " best project yet! "
Achievements
By the grace of God, Sir-Viva was nominated and received the award for Best Rap Album of the Year at the HGS Music Awards 06’ (I’m A Survivor); S.C. Rap Minister of the Year at the CHHHAA’s 2007 (Luke 14:23 (In Action…!) and nominated in 2008 as well as 2012); Nominated for best Rap performer at the C.I.G.M.A’s 08’ and has received honorable mention at countless other events! Sir-Viva has also performed live on several Television shows and has ministered at hundreds of events like the annual H20 festival, C.I.G.M.A’s, and HHH Awards (ATL), and City Takers (ATL) just to name a few...
