Biography

ARTIST BIO:
Osaze “Oppose” Murray is a native of Norfolk, VA but he spent the last six to eight years of his life living in Washington, DC and the Philadelphia area. While living in DC he attended Howard University and it was there that God’s grace quickened his heart, leading “O” to rededicate his life to Jesus. Upon graduation he remained in the DC area working with a campus/urban ministry as a missionary for two years.
Central to his understanding of the hip hop ministry is the need to gently share with people the love of Christ from a heart that has been enlightened by the word. Thus, while at Howard “O” entered into University talent shows and in the annual Verbal Armageddon Hip-Hop emcee battle hoping to be a light. Each time God‘s grace allowed him to share the words of Jesus with 300 or more students who came to hear “the norm”, but instead heard about the living Savior. Oppose has been featured on the college radio station “spitting a freestyle” and on one of the school’s popular d.j.’s. mixtapes as the only Christian emcee. Back at home in Virginia he’s co-laboured on a collab song that has received weekly rotation on the Gospel morning show on 103 Jamz as well as being a part of the 1st Norfolk Praise Project. Recently, Oppose has ministered at Flavor Fest, Atlanta’s Holy Hip Awards, the Wade O radio show and his song Where You From? feat. J. Johnson was voted one of the top 20 songs of 2007 on Holy Culture Radio.
Releasing his EP Time to Deliver last year on dasouth.com/bus-shop it became one of the top sellers in it’s month of release second to Corey Red’s Crashing the Party. in all these things To God be the Glory.
Currently Brother O has completed his studies at Palmer Theological seminary and he and his wife are laboring with the youth of West Philadelphia as Monumental Baptist Church’s youth minister.
