Biography
Ronnie Rolon, the emcee better known as Double, did not realize Gods purpose for him until several years ago, when he was moved by the spirit to minister through holy hip hop. Double, however, refuses to accept the classification of hip-hop artist, rather he insists: Im just a Christian who makes music to the excellence of the Lord, without compromising the WORD or myself. That is why Doubles music speaks so powerfully to this generation- feeding his audience life and truth. Growing up in the inner city of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Double saw first- hand how the streets could either break or strengthen your faith, so he made the choice to walk down the latter, righteous path. Now residing in Atlanta, GA, Double is a member of Victory World Church, where Pastor Dennis Rouse is the overseer. Double is completely focused and dedicated to Christ- through his life and music. Describing his music as: art that manifests the truth, Double allows the power of his words to bring light to a large spectrum of issues our world currently faces. Using his own life for examples when needed, he is able to connect with many who have previously felt alone and unheard. His music is honest and pure, and with the help of God, it is being used as an instrument of change. Already recognized as a force to be reckoned with in the holy hip-hop arena, Double is featured on the Stellar Award nominated project: Holy Hip Hop- Vol. 2 as well as the world wide distributed documentary: Holy Hip Hop- the Movie. With one album under his belt, that produced such hits as: Poison and Feeling Like A G, Doubles sophomore project is highly anticipated by his fans around the globe. Taken straight from the Word, Doubles name speaks of the double portion God has given him, and is based on: Ephesians 3:20- Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Set to give the music industry more than they could ever have bargained for, Double (along with those on his newly formed label: Norf Up! Music), will undoubtedly take the art form back to its basic foundation: God's Word.
